Plan Your Visit
What to Expect When You Visit Our Yard
Visiting our Long Island City lumber yard is the best way to see, touch, and select your reclaimed wood in person. Here is what a typical visit looks like so you can plan accordingly.
Arrival and Parking
When you arrive at 47-55 37th Street, you will see our yard entrance marked with signage. Street parking is available on 37th Street and surrounding blocks. If you are picking up an order, pull directly into our loading area where staff will direct you.
Check In with Our Team
Stop by the office at the front of the yard. Let us know if you have an existing order, are browsing, or need assistance selecting material. For large orders, we recommend calling ahead so we can have your material staged and ready.
Browse Our Inventory
Our yard is organized by species, dimension, and grade. Stacks are labeled with species, approximate dimensions, and pricing. You are welcome to walk through and hand-select individual boards. Wear closed-toe shoes — this is a working lumber yard.
Consult with Our Staff
Our team has decades of combined experience with reclaimed wood. They can help you identify species, recommend grades for your application, estimate quantities, and suggest alternatives if your first choice is not in stock.
Custom Milling (If Needed)
Our on-site mill can surface, rip, plane, and re-saw reclaimed lumber to your exact specifications. Milling is typically done while you wait for small orders, or within 1-3 business days for larger jobs. Discuss milling needs during your visit.
Loading Your Order
We provide forklift loading for trucks, vans, trailers, and roof racks during business hours. Our loading dock accommodates vehicles of all sizes. For small orders that fit in a car, we can hand-load from the office area. Straps and padding are available.

“New York Lumber supplied all the reclaimed heart pine for our Williamsburg restaurant renovation. The quality was exceptional, and they matched the original 1890s flooring perfectly. Their team knew exactly what we needed before we did.”
Michael R.

“I have been buying reclaimed oak from NYL for five years. They always have a deep inventory and their grading is honest. When they say Premium, they mean it. The loading crew is professional and my truck is always loaded safely.”
Sarah K.

“As a furniture maker, I need consistent, well-graded hardwood. Their reclaimed chestnut and white oak are some of the finest I have worked with anywhere on the East Coast. The grain is unreal — you cannot get this from new-growth trees.”
David L.

“We ordered 2,000 board feet of reclaimed Douglas fir beams for a Tribeca loft conversion. New York Lumber delivered on time, the material was exactly as described, and they even helped coordinate the freight elevator schedule. True professionals.”

“Their reclaimed barn siding transformed our Montclair home exterior. The character-grade material had exactly the look we wanted — authentic weathering that you simply cannot fake. Great price for the volume we ordered too.”
