Delivery
Delivery Services
We operate our own fleet of trucks — no third-party carriers for local and regional deliveries. This gives us direct control over scheduling, handling, and care of your material from the moment it leaves our Long Island City facility to the moment it arrives at your project site.
Our drivers are experienced with reclaimed lumber and understand that this material requires careful handling. Long beams need proper support to prevent cracking. Finished flooring needs weather protection. Kiln-dried material needs to stay dry. Every load is planned with the specific material and destination in mind.
For nationwide shipments beyond our direct delivery area, we work with vetted freight carriers and prepare all shipments at our facility — palletizing, strapping, wrapping, and protecting material to survive the rigors of LTL and truckload freight without damage.
Flatbed Delivery
For large orders and long timbers — our flatbed trucks handle up to 40-foot lengths. Open-bed design allows easy forklift and crane access for unloading.
Enclosed Truck
Weather protection for finished products, paneling, and flooring during transport. Essential for kiln-dried material that must stay below 12% moisture content.
Liftgate Service
Hydraulic liftgate for sites without a forklift or loading dock. Rated to 3,000 lbs — sufficient for most single-pallet and bundle deliveries.
Forklift Unloading
Our truck-mounted piggyback forklift provides precision placement at your site. No need to rent on-site equipment or coordinate a separate forklift delivery.
Hand Carry / Walk-Up
For urban deliveries to upper floors without elevators, our crew can hand-carry material up stairs and stage it in the designated area.
Crane Coordination
For oversized beams and rooftop/terrace deliveries, we coordinate with licensed crane operators and handle all rigging logistics.

Nationwide
Freight Shipping Nationwide
Customers outside our direct delivery area can receive reclaimed lumber anywhere in the continental United States via common carrier freight. We prepare all freight shipments at our facility with the same care we apply to our own deliveries.
We work with a network of vetted LTL (less-than-truckload) and FTL (full truckload) carriers who have experience handling lumber shipments. Freight rates are quoted per shipment based on weight, dimensions, origin, and destination. We pass through carrier rates at cost plus a flat $75 freight management fee that covers our packaging, palletizing, and coordination.
Every freight shipment is photographed before loading, during strapping, and after palletizing. These photos are shared with you as part of the shipping confirmation and serve as documentation in the unlikely event of a freight damage claim.
LTL Freight (Less Than Truckload)
- For shipments under 10,000 lbs or 6 pallets
- Typical transit time: 3-7 business days
- Dock delivery standard; liftgate available at extra cost
- Material palletized, strapped, and wrapped at our facility
- Freight class 70-85 depending on material density
FTL Freight (Full Truckload)
- For shipments over 10,000 lbs or requiring dedicated trailer
- Typical transit time: 2-5 business days
- Better per-pound rate than LTL for large orders
- Required for material over 24 feet in length
- Direct delivery — no terminal handling, lower damage risk
Blanket Wrap / White Glove
- Premium service for high-value and finished material
- Blanket-wrapped protection for every piece
- Inside delivery to room of choice
- Debris removal and packaging disposal included
- Ideal for residential customers and retail environments
Packaging
Packaging & Protection Methods
Proper packaging is critical for reclaimed lumber — especially kiln-dried and finished material that must maintain its moisture content and surface quality during transit. We select packaging based on material type, transit distance, and delivery conditions.
Stickered & Strapped Bundles
Standard for most lumber shipments. Boards are stacked with spacer sticks (stickers) between layers to allow air circulation and prevent moisture transfer. Bundles are secured with steel or poly strapping. This method prevents warping during transit and allows easy inspection on arrival.
Shrink-Wrapped Pallets
For finished products, flooring, and paneling that need weather protection during transit and on-site staging. Material is bundled on a standard pallet, wrapped in stretch film, and corner-protected with cardboard edge guards.
Crate Packaging
For high-value material, live-edge slabs, and items requiring maximum protection. Custom-built wooden crates with interior padding. Required for freight shipments of fragile or irreplaceable material.
Blanket Wrap
Moving blankets protect finished surfaces during delivery. Standard for kiln-dried, surfaced material being delivered directly to interior spaces. Prevents scratches, scuffs, and surface contamination.
Loose / Unpackaged
Available for will-call pickup and for rough material where packaging is unnecessary. Customer is responsible for securing material on their own vehicle.
Protection
Insurance Coverage
All material in transit on our own vehicles is covered by our commercial auto and cargo insurance policy. Coverage is included in the delivery price at no additional charge. For deliveries using our own fleet, our standard cargo coverage is $100,000 per shipment.
For freight shipments via common carrier, the carrier's standard liability applies (typically $0.50/lb for LTL). We strongly recommend declared-value coverage for shipments containing high-value material (rare species, custom-milled products, large beams). Declared-value coverage is available through the carrier at approximately 2-3% of the material value.
In the event of transit damage, we photograph all loads before departure and document condition at delivery. Claims against our own fleet are processed within 10 business days. Carrier freight claims follow the carrier's process but we manage the claim on your behalf at no additional charge.

Logistics
Scheduling Process & Tracking
How Scheduling Works
Order Confirmation
When your order is placed and payment confirmed, our logistics team assigns a delivery window based on your zone and requested date.
Route Planning
We optimize delivery routes daily. Your delivery is grouped with other stops in your area to minimize cost and environmental impact.
Day-Before Confirmation
You receive a confirmation call or text the day before delivery with a 2-hour delivery window and driver contact information.
Day-Of Notification
Our driver contacts you 30-60 minutes before arrival. GPS tracking is available for real-time location monitoring.
Delivery & Sign-Off
Material is delivered, unloaded, and placed as directed. You inspect the material and sign the delivery receipt confirming condition and quantity.
Tracking Availability
All deliveries on our own fleet include GPS tracking. When your delivery is dispatched, you receive a tracking link via text or email that shows your driver's real-time location on a map. Estimated arrival time updates automatically based on traffic and route progress.
For freight shipments via common carrier, tracking is provided through the carrier's system. We send you the PRO number (freight tracking number) and a direct link to the carrier's tracking page when your shipment is picked up.

Special Situations
Special Handling Scenarios
NYC construction sites present unique logistical challenges — narrow streets, walk-up buildings, limited staging areas, and strict street-use regulations. We have experience with all of these scenarios and plan every delivery accordingly.
Oversized Beams (20'+ lengths)
40-foot flatbed trailer with extended overhang permits when needed. Pilot car escort for loads exceeding standard width or length limits. Crane coordination for placement at the destination.
High-Rise / Upper-Floor Delivery
Material cut to elevator or stairwell-manageable lengths when possible. Hand-carry teams available for walk-up buildings. Crane or hoist rental coordination for material that cannot be carried.
Narrow Street / Limited Access
Pre-delivery site survey to assess access constraints. Smaller vehicles for narrow streets. Early-morning or off-peak delivery scheduling to minimize traffic and parking issues in dense urban areas.
Finished Interior Spaces
Blanket-wrapped delivery with shoe covers and floor protection. Material hand-carried and staged where directed. No forklifts or heavy equipment inside finished spaces.
Rooftop / Terrace Delivery
Material bundled for crane lifting. We coordinate with licensed crane operators and handle rigging. Rooftop protection (plywood walkways, edge protection) as needed.
Multi-Site / Phased Projects
Split deliveries to multiple addresses from a single order. Phased delivery schedules matching your construction timeline. Stored at our facility between phases at no additional charge (up to 90 days).
Delivery Types
Dock Delivery vs. Jobsite Delivery
Dock / Warehouse Delivery
Standard delivery to a commercial loading dock or warehouse. Our truck backs up to your dock, and material is unloaded directly onto your dock using our equipment or yours. This is the fastest and most cost-effective delivery method for customers with receiving facilities.
- Fastest unloading — typically 15-30 minutes
- Standard delivery pricing applies
- Material placed on dock or first available surface
- Suitable for any load size
- Appointment scheduling available
Jobsite Delivery
Delivery directly to an active construction or renovation site. Requires more planning than dock delivery due to access constraints, staging area limitations, and coordination with other trades on site. We work with your site superintendent to plan access and timing.
- Pre-delivery site survey recommended
- Material placed at designated staging area
- Forklift or liftgate typically required
- Additional charge for wait time over 30 minutes
- Street parking permits arranged if needed
Pricing
Pricing Structure
Delivery pricing is based on three factors: distance (zone), vehicle type, and any special equipment or handling required. The zone-based rates above cover standard flatbed or enclosed truck delivery. Additional charges apply for liftgate, forklift, hand-carry, crane coordination, and timed delivery windows.
Free delivery is available on qualifying orders within specific zones. This benefit is designed to reward larger orders and simplify pricing for our most active customers, especially those with trade accounts.
For pickup customers, there is no delivery charge. We load your vehicle at our Long Island City facility using our forklift at no charge during business hours (Monday-Friday, 7 AM - 4 PM).
Additional Service Charges
Salvage Pickup
Pickup Service for Sellers
Have reclaimed lumber to sell or need material picked up from a demolition site? We provide pickup service for salvageable wood throughout the tri-state area. Our team evaluates on-site, handles all loading, and transports the material to our facility for processing.
Pickup service is free for material we are purchasing — the pickup cost is factored into our purchase price. For toll processing (you keep the wood, we process it), pickup charges follow the same zone-based pricing as delivery.
We also provide emergency pickup for time-sensitive situations — demolition sites that need to be cleared by a deadline, renovation projects where material needs to move before the next phase begins, or estate situations where material needs to be removed quickly. Contact us for same-day or next-day pickup availability.
Demolition Sites
We coordinate with demo contractors to salvage usable timber before or during demolition. Quick evaluation and same-week pickup for time-sensitive sites.
Renovation Projects
Material removed during renovation — old flooring, beams, trim, doors — picked up on your schedule. We work around your contractor's timeline.
Barn Teardowns
Full-service barn wood pickup from rural properties in the tri-state area and beyond. We handle loading and can coordinate with local labor if needed.
