I'm excited to share some news that's been months in the making: we've officially completed the expansion of our Long Island City warehouse, adding approximately 4,500 square feet of inventory and processing space to our existing facility.
Why We Expanded
Put simply, we outgrew our old footprint. Over the past two years, our reclaimed lumber inventory has grown significantly, and we were running out of room to properly store, sort, and process incoming material. The expansion gives us the space to maintain larger inventories of popular items — particularly reclaimed oak flooring, mixed hardwood planking, and heavy timber beams — so customers can get what they need without waiting for us to source it.
What's New
The expanded space includes:
- A dedicated sorting and grading area where incoming reclaimed lumber is inspected, de-nailed, and categorized by species, grade, and dimension
- Additional covered storage racks that allow us to air-dry and acclimate reclaimed wood under controlled conditions
- An expanded milling zone with room for our new wide-belt sander, which lets us surface reclaimed boards up to 36 inches wide
- A small client consultation area where architects, designers, and contractors can view samples and discuss projects in person
Same Location, More Capability
The expansion is within our existing 37th Street property in Long Island City, so nothing changes for our customers in terms of location or logistics. If anything, the additional space makes pickups and deliveries smoother, since we now have a more organized staging area for outbound orders.
We're grateful for the growing demand that made this expansion necessary, and we're committed to continuing to provide the highest quality reclaimed lumber in the New York area. If you haven't visited the yard recently, come take a look — there's a lot more to see.
